— A crane carrying a large load of lumber was found Tuesday in a swampy area on the eastern edge of Tallahassee, a police spokesman said.
Police had not released any details about the truck or its destination.
A trucker was assisting with the search, but no one was injured.
The crane was located about 1:30 p.m. in the Tallahasse River near a water treatment plant on Interstate 95 near Lake Mary.
It was not clear whether the crane was used for haulage.
The river was about a half-mile from the Tallapas Water Treatment Plant, which serves as the main water supply for a city of about 8,000 people.
The Tallapascanas Water Board, which owns the water plant, said it was inspecting the area Wednesday.
The city also was inspecting and assessing the water that was released from the plant’s storage tanks on Wednesday.
