A crane in Florida is gutted after it fell from a rooftop and onto a truck, and a contractor is investigating.
The crane fell in the middle of the night from a high rise, and the contractor was making repairs when the incident happened, said Michael Toms, a spokesman for the Jacksonville-based Crane Service.
Toms said the crane was on the roof of the building where the contractor works, and that the crane fell about a half-mile from the building.
The crane fell to the ground.
The contractor is looking for anyone who was in the building at the time, he said.
Tomes said the contractor has not yet identified the cause of the fall.
He said the company will conduct a thorough inspection of the crane to determine what went wrong.
No one was injured in the incident, Toms said.
The company will work with the contractor to determine if it will need to replace the crane, he added.
The Jacksonville-area company has been working to upgrade its crane systems since the collapse of its previous crane in 2013.
